Outsmarted by My 2-year-old

It happens more often than I care to admit.

Adam: I want a cookie.
Me: Okay, let's eat some breakfast first.
Adam: No, that's not how it works. You eat a cookie first and then you eat breakfast. That's how it works Mama.

Later, I convinced him to eat breakfast first. What did he choose for breakfast? Leftover chocolate chip pancakes. He will be getting his Ph.D. in Reverse Psychology next week.

I always eat cookies before breakfast, so I'm pretty sure that's what my kids think too.
I found a recipe for breakfast cookies. You'll have to try that out. It's on my food blog or on BHG. Search for Double Oat Breakfast Cookies. They were super good and you could substitute any kind of cereal too (probably not lucky charms...)
And I'd totally choose chocolate chip pancakes too!

I am eating cookies for lunch right now. I think I have a female version of Adam at my house. Her name is Molly and today I told her she had to eat one thing before she went out to play. She chose ONE mandarin orange. I was sort of thinking of one SERVING but I did say one, so I let her go . . . this time!

There is no arguing when it comes to wanting a cookie.
